After spending the previous afternoon with host families, the students started school for the first time today. Luckily, because it was a Sunday, there was no one else there. The day was focused on getting to know each other and the school.
The initial introduction was to the school building. Dutch students had to guide the Finns in small groups through the corridors and classrooms of Leeuwenhorst. This way, the students quickly learned where to buy snacks in the coming weeks and the locations of various classrooms for rehearsals.
After exploring the building, the students ventured into the surroundings of Noordwijkerhout. They worked on a photo assignment to capture all the important and beautiful spots in Noordwijkerhout, and make sure that everyone is doing a fun pose. When the students, frozen by the cold wind, returned to the school building after 1.5 hours, it was time for lunch.
Following lunch, the students engaged in various games in the gymnasium to get acquainted with each other during the exchange. And then the students split into their “teams.” With these teams, they will work on their performance in the coming week. This afternoon was, of course, dedicated to getting to know your teammates.
