Today I interviewed the coordinators from both teams. I´m asking them about the first day and what their expectations are of the project.

Interview with Nicolette Alkemade (Coordinator of the Dutch team):
What do you think about the first day?
I felt very welcome. I really think the school building is beautiful, and it is very nice to experience that everybody is so committed to the project.
What do you expect from the project?
It is the first time I am in so it is hard to refer to other years. In general I think it is good that it is very intense. And I’m looking forward to the performances. I expect that everyone, including the teachers, will learn and experience a lot of new things.
What is your role in the project?
I’m the coordinator for the Dutch team. And my role is to take care of the things that must be organized. Also I am taking care of everybody about their well being. And that it is important that it is going okay with all the students. I’m also the one who brings the information to the Finnish coordinator. I also take care of drinks and food for the teachers. I’m sort of a substitute mum ; – )

Interview with Mervi Hälinen (Coordinator of the Finish team):
What do you think about the first day?
It was fun and very enjoyable. I had a few years of YET and it was very excited to meet all the new people, students and teachers. I think it was in one word: Positive!!
What do you expect from the project?
The main thing is that there are 52 young students that are here and are going to make wonderful memories and make a wonderful play, know each other and come into a different culture that they can discover. It is going to be an amazing play and a wonderful experience.
What is your role in the project?
I’m the coordinator for the Finnish team. My role is that I do many practical stuff for the project. I had to take care of the food, the schedule and so much more. Helping everyone and making sure that everything goes well in the project. So actually I’m making sure that everything that has to be done that should be done and fix all the stuff that the student’s and the teachers need.
